Residents of Armenia are visiting the memorial to victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey in 1915, Interfax reports.
The top officials of Armenia led by President Serzh Sargsyan have already laid down flowers to the Tsitsernakaberd memorial.
The president said in his address that denial of this genocide constitutes direct continuation of this crime.
"Every April 24 is a reason to renew our vow of loyalty to Armenian statehood, whose existence already rules out and will rule out another genocide of Armenians," the Armenian president said.
A torch march devoted to the 98th anniversary of the memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide was held in Yerevan on Tuesday. Some 5,000 people walked from central Yerevan to the memorial site. Before moving in the direction of the memorial, they burned a Turkish flag, which they used to light up their torches.
