'Decent' holiday rather costly in Armenia - Chairperson of the Armenian Tour Operator Association.

A decent four- or five-day holiday in Armenia cost US $2,000 to 3,000 during the New Year holidays.
At his Jan 11 meeting with journalists, Hakob Hakobyan, Chairman of the Armenian Hotels Association (AHA), said that "a decent holiday" is a holiday spend in Tsakhkadzor, Dilijan, Aghveran, Sevan and other holiday centers in Armenia.
Hakobyan reported larger-scale incoming tourism in Armenia.
Karine Kpryan, Chairperson of the Armenian Tour Operator Association, said that, despite the high prices, vacant hotel rooms were hardly available.
On the other hand, rather few people arrived in Armenia to spend their holidays here. Lack of places of entertainment and advertising is the reason.
The statistical data for 2000-2010 show that about 45,000 tourists visited Armenia in 2000, and 689,000, in 2010.
