Number of Guantanamo hunger strikers climbs to 97

There are already 97 Guantanamo jail inmates taking part in an ongoing hunger strike, US Army Colonel Samuel House said on Friday.

He added that 19 strikers were being force fed and five hospitalized, but in stable condition.

The hunger strike at Guantanamo has been going sing February 6 with the inmates protesting against their open-ended incarceration. According to their lawyers there are actually 130 inmates taking part in the hunger strike, Interfax reported.
