MegaFon CEO Sergey Soldatenkov may step down.

Sergey Soldatenkov, who has been CEO of mobile operator MegaFon since 2003 and helped propel the company to second place in Russia in terms of subscriber base and revenue, could tender his resignation, RBC Daily reported, citing market sources.
Soldatenkov does not intend to extend his employment contract which expires in June 2012. He could be offered a position in the government, several telecommunications executives told the daily.
Possible replacements for Soldatenkov include director of MegaFon's Moscow branch, Andrey Kurdanov, and founder of television holding Media-1, Ivan Tavrin.
