Poll shows Putin Moldova`s most popular politician
Russia
Moldovans trust foreign politicians than local ones, a recent opinion poll conducted by Magenta Consulting says.
Figures show that 74% of Moldovans trust Russian leader Vladimir Putin; 49% of the respondents rely on German Chancellor Angela Merkel, while the other 47% choose US President Barack Obama.
As far as Moldovan politicians are concerned, the country’s former president and the Communist Party chairman, Vladimir Voronin, enjoys support of 18.5% of the respondents, while the dismissed Prime Minister Vlad Filat is trusted by 9.4%, Interfax reports.
6.4% of the respondents voiced their support to the former parliament speaker and Democratic Party chairman Marian Lupu.
The fact that the current Moldovan leader Nicolae Timofti enjoys support of just 0.6% of the respondents proves that the country has been living through the worst political crisis in the past two decades, experts say.
