Armenian expert: “The USA will not attack Iran now.”

Armenian expert on Iran Gohar Iskandaryan met journalists today and spoke about the last developments over Iran and the international reaction to them.

“If Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz, the USA will urge to open it even using force”, the speaker said while commenting on the threats by Iran to close the Hormuz.

According to G. Iskandaryan sanctions against Iran is not a new method. It became known on 2002 that Iran had a secret nuclear plan and after it the international society started to convince Iran to be opener.

“The international society wants to make monitoring and be sure that the program is not dangerous. UN Security Council accepted some resolutions taking into consideration EU troubles bu tIran did not fulfill them. Iran announced that it would not refuse its policy. Now this country warns to close Hormuz if economical sanctions are held against it”, the speaker noted. The expert considers that the USA will not want to make firm steps concerning Iran as soon as it is in the pre-electoral round.

According to Iskandaryan closing Hormuz will cause world crisis as great part of oil passes by this strait. “The USA may attack it and open in any minute. But the USA does not want war actions now. But if it is necessary they are able to make short attacks against Iranian military objects”, the speaker underlined.
