Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro met with former Cuban leader Fidel Castro on Saturday during a visit to Havana.
Maduro told reporters he sat down with 86-year-old Fidel Castro for five hours, "remembering Comandante Chavez, remembering that those two built this relationship".
Maduro published two still photos of Castro on his Twitter feed.
The first showed the two in a vehicle. According to Maduro's Twitter message, they were visiting some 50,000 Venezuelans receiving medical treatment in Cuba.
The other showed Fidel standing arm in arm with Maduro's wife, Venezuelan First Lady Cilia Flores.
Maduro was in Cuba to sign a series of cooperation accords, his first trip to the island since he was officially sworn in as president.
