An Australian woman was raped by a thief on Indonesia's resort island of Bali, police said Monday.
The suspect broke into the 28-year-old woman's family villa in North Kuta and raped her at knifepoint Saturday, local police chief Reinhard Nainggolan said.
Her relatives were in different rooms when the burglar barged into the villa and demanded that she open the safe, which was empty, the police chief said.
The man got away with the woman's wallet, three tablet computers and two mobile phones, he said.
"The villa was usually guarded but at that time the guard was not on duty," the police chief said.
