Armenian chess players GM Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian and FM Armen Proudian (Brazil) are taking part in the World Championship Zonal 2.4 Tournament that is being held in Ponta Negra, Brazil.

After three rounds Mekhitarian has 2,5, Proudian – 2 points.

84 chess players from Brazil, Bolivia and Peru are participating in the tournament, armchess reports.

FIDE awarded Armenian chess player Vahram Mezhlumyan with the title of FIDE Master.
