More than 1,200 shots in the direction of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic from Azerbaijani side.

In the early days of 2012, the adversary’s vanguard subdivisions were particularly active around the entire length of the line of contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces.

Through different weaponry, the position holding forces of the Azerbaijani army violated the ceasefire around ninety times, on New Year’s Eve and all through the following day alone, and fired more than 1,200 shots in the direction of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army’s frontlines, NKR Defense Army Press Service informed.

The ceasefire was considerably violated in the past week, too. Specifically, the adversary used machine guns and sniper weaponry against the Armenian positions at the line of line of contact.  

But not retaliating to such operations by the Azerbaijani army, NKR Defense Army vanguard subdivisions continued to honor the ceasefire, and confidently defended the military positions along the entire length of the line of contact.
