Armenia
The members of the delegation of the Conservatives and Reformists Party of the European Parliament visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial on April 30 and laid a wreath in the memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, commemorating the memory of one and a half million Armenians by a minute of silence.
The members of the delegation visited as well the Genocide Museum and got acquainted with the documents proving the Great Armenian Genocide.
The head of the delegation Martin Callanan made a note in the memorial book: “It is very important that we all, the political figures, do so that such tragedies never happen again. They, who forget the history, are condemned to make such mistakes again”.
Sharing his impressions with the journalists, Martin Callanan stated: “Horrible things happened. It is quite important for the modern policy to get lessons from all those things, which happened in the past, to prevent their repetition in the future”.
