Greece gripped by 24-hour strike
Աշխարհ
A 24-hour general strike has begun in Greece to protest against austerity measures introduced by the government.
Its expected the action will bring to a standstill public transport and hospitals, BBC reported.
The organizers of the strike demand that the government cease cutting spending and raising taxes - a policy that, in the opinion of the strikers, has led to prolonged recession.
The austerity measures are a precondition for Greece to receive financial aid from the EU and IMF.
