May Day demonstration in the streets of Spain

Thousands of Spaniards took it to the streets in 80 towns across the country on May 1 marking the International Workers' Day.
The most numerous rallies were arranged by Barcelona and Madrid trade unions, where people marched against austerity measures and for better social security.

According to union leaders, over 6 mln of Spaniards are now jobless.
