RA Ombudsman wishes journalists to get rid of 6 vices

May 3 is World Press Freedom Day. On this occasion Armenian Ombudsman issued a statement in which, he wishes journalists to get rid of 6 vices.

"Freedom of speech in Armenia has significantly improved its position in recent years. The intervention of the state and public bodies in the activities of the media brought to possible and internationally permissible minimum. Today, however, over-centralization of different markets, including the informational market does not allow journalists, editors, owners of small and medium-sized media to be cost-free, secured and protected.

I wish all journalists and media complete freedom

1. centralization and monopolization of the media market

2. violent actions of local authorities and other criminals

3. depending on the financial oligarchs and other rich people

4. partisanship of the media

5. written articles on the order of journalists

6. illegal sentencing of court.
