Obama does not foresee sending U.S. troops to Syria

US President Barack Obama refused to rule out any options Friday to deal with the conflict in Syria but said he did not foresee deploying US troops there.

"I do not foresee a scenario in which boots on the ground in Syria, American boots on the ground in Syria, would not only be good for America but would be good for Syria," Obama said during a visit to Costa Rica.

Obama also vowed the United States would take a cautious approach to responding to Syria's alleged use of chemical weapons, saying he will not "leap before we look."
