Explosion in Baghdad Sunni district

At least 6 people were killed and more than 30 wounded as a result of an explosion in Iraq’s capital Baghdad, RIA reported.

The explosion took place near a mosque in the district of Al Rashidia, which is populated mainly by Sunnis, on Friday.The authorities are suspecting Shiite militants, who have already set several similar terror acts in Iraq.

Under Saddam Hussein, high posts in Iraq were occupied mainly by Sunnis. Now, many Sunnis have been ousted from these posts by Shiites. Iraq’s current Prime Minister is also a Shiite.
