Maduro recalls ambassador from Peru

President Nicolas Maduro announced on Friday (May 03) he would recall Venezuela's ambassador to Peru after comments by Peru's Foreign Minister Rafael Roncagliolo for Chavez's heir to open a dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition amid rising political tensions.
At a meeting with supporters in a Caracas suburb, Maduro slammed Roncagliolo for meddling in Venezuela's internal affairs after he reportedly called on members of regional bloc UNASUR (Union of South American Nations) for 'tolerance and dialogue' in the deeply polarised OPEC country.
"Companion and Peruvian Foreign Minister (Rafael) Roncagliolo, I know you well but you cannot give an opinion on Venezuela's internal affairs without consulting the sovereign government of Venezuela. I am going to recall our ambassador in Lima to Caracas immediately".
