As expected, the US Dollar finally ended its upward surge in Armenia’s financial market on Tuesday.
The Armenian Dram (AMD) gained value against the dollar for the first time ever in 2012 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange. And as a result of trading, one dollar’s average exchange rate comprised AMD 388.30, which is a 0.03-percent decrease from Monday.
In general, $3.8 million were sold at the stock exchange on Tuesday.
The fall in the dollar’s exchange rate was felt at Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, too. One dollar’s purchase rate dropped from AMD 388, at virtually all exchange offices, and it was sold at AMD 389.
