Ashot Avetisyan, one of the close associates of PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan was arrested.

Today, on Jan. 18, with the decision of Yerevan`s Arabkir district`s main investigator of the head investigative department, Ashot Avetisyan, 48, was arrested.

As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan informed LURER.com, Ashot Avetisyan lives in Yerevan`s Isakov avenue, 68 bld., and works as director of "Neptun" Ltd.

He was detained by Arabkir police officers in midnight of Jan. 18 for suspicion on hooliganism.

The photojournalist informed, that yesterday, 00:15am, on the crossroad of Komitas-Griboyedov streets, Armavir resident Garik Nazaryan, 31, driving his VAZ 2107 - 737 crashed Avetisyan`s BMW X6 - 08 ՈՕ 888 model car.

People gathered on the scene told that after the accident Avetisyan got out of the car and began beating and insulting G. Nazaryan. The latter got body injuries. When the police tried to transfer Avetisyan to the police station, he did not obey.

To note, Avetisyan is much known to the public as "Bangladeshtsi Hamik", and especially after 2004, April 5 rally of "National Union" party, when together with a group of skinheads he threw eggs on Artashes Geghamyan and broke the cameras of the journalists recording all this and used violence towards them. For participating in this incident and also in another skirmish held in Erebuni district Avetisyan only got a symbolic punishment. Also in 2010 he ran over a citizen in Tigran Mets avenue who died on the spot and escaped from the scene. For this case he again got just a fine.

To add, according to our information, Ashot Avetisyan was coming back from Batumi.
