Armenian vice-premier hosted WB delegation working at the Agriculture and Rural Development.

Armenian Vice-Premier, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan held a meeting on Jan. 18 with a delegation of the WB team working at the Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD) report on Armenia.
The delegation presented the main points of the report to Vice-Premier Gevorgyan. The WB delegation members pointed out the importance of the Armenian side's proposal for preparing a comprehensive report.
The report is supposed to deal with rural development prospects and ways of achieving progress. The report is expected to be prepared by this July.
The document will be presented to the Armenian government and interested agencies. It may also serve as a basis for the WB's further projects in Armenia.
Vice-Premier Gevorgyan pointed out the importance of the report. Agricultural development is among the Armenian government's priorities, he added.
The Armenian vice-premier proposed addressing the issue of water reserves, which is of vital importance, transport and logistical problems related to export of Armenian products, presenting Armenia's potential in international markets, and – given Armenia's climatic conditions and agricultural lands – presenting proposals concerning ways and advisability of rendering state assistance to the agricultural sector.
Vice-Premier Armen Gevorgyan expressed his willingness to contribute to the team's work.
