Bangladesh building collapse death toll hits 700

The death toll from the collapse of a nine-storey garment factory complex in Bangladesh passed 700 on Tuesday after rescuers pulled out dozens more bodies from the rubble, an army spokesman said.
Captain Shahid Ahsan Bhuiyan, speaking from an army control room which is coordinating the recovery operation near Dhaka, told AFP that the death toll now stood at 705, with 2,437 people having been rescued alive.
