An international cultural project with the participation of Russian performers has created a stir in the US and Canada. Titled Culture Without Borders, the project started in Paris in January and is timed for the celebration of Victory Day on May 9th featuring a large number of concerts and other commemorative events honoring war veterans, TASS reports.
Commemorative events have taken place in Washington, New York, Montreal and Ottawa bringing together performers from Russia, the US, Georgia, France, Rumania and Canada.
US Secretary of State John Kerry and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper have sent their greetings to the participants.
Culture Without Borders is held under the aegis of UNESCO with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Russian Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.
V-Day concerts under the project have been held in European capitals and will take place in Russia, Slovakia, Georgia, Israel, Ukraine and China before the end of the year.
