World’s highest chair carousel opens

The world’s highest chair carousel has opened in Sweden, offering panoramic views - for those brave enough to open their eyes.

The 400ft Eclipse features 12 swings with double seats that hang from 8ft long chains and revolves at a top speed of more than 40mph. Peter Osbeck, head of attractions at the Stockholm theme park where it is based, said: “We wanted to do something grand for our 130th anniversary and we did.

“It’s probably not everyone who will dare to go on, but those who do get a great view of Stockholm and Djurgården. Luckily, we have double seats, which means that you aren’t alone up there.”
