At least seven people were killed after a fire swept through a garment making factory in the Bangladeshi capital, police said Thursday, AFP reported.
Firefighters doused the blaze at 2am Thursday (2000 GMT Wednesday), police said. "Seven people have died of suffocation," local police chief Khalilur Rahman said.
The incident follows last month's garment factory collapse outside Dhaka, which left at least 800 dead and has led to the closure of 18 garment plants.
