"Chorord Inknishkhanutyun": Opening of Stepanakert airport again postponed?

The paper says it has learned from sources that the opening of the airport in Nagorno-Karabakh capital Stepanakert has been postponed for a couple of months.

''This is the second year that the authorities in Karabakh say the renovated airport of Stepanakert is going to open. But it hasn’t opened so far. May 9 of the last year was reported to be the latest date but the opening was then postponed until autumn,'' claims the paper. In autumn the opening was also postponed though the airport was almost completely renovated.

It further says that Argentinean-Armenian businessman Eduardo Ernekyan promised to invest $11 million in the airport’s renovation at the Moscow gala dinner which followed Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s 2011 telethon.

But the sum was later reported to have been spent for purchasing an airliner for the Stepanakert airport, says the paper.
