USA
According to the Yonhap news agency, the US Government accused a Taiwanese company for involvement in trade with North Korea.
The US Treasury Department has slapped sanctions on Taiwan’s Trans Multi Mechanics Co. Ltd. and the Company President, Chang Wen-Fu, for their links to a North Korean Alex H.T. Tsai procurement agent, the Department said Friday in a release.
The US government believes that Tsai used the Taiwanese firm to buy and send to North Korea hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of weapons, and also acted as a mediator in talks.
The US authorities already accused Alex Tsai in 2009 of providing support for the main arms supplier to North Korea, - Korea Mining Development Trading Corp.
The United States has been trying to maximally hinder North Korea’s efforts to develop its nuclear programme, as well as its ballistic missile programme.
