Turkish Vice PM: "Weapons cannot defeat terrorism."

Weapons can not defeat terrorism, and no country has defeated terrorism by weapons, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bekir Bozdag told Anadolu agency on Saturday.
According Bozdag, for about thirty years Turkey has been fighting against terrorists, and now it is the time to use other methods.
He added that the fight against terrorism is the task not only of the government but also of the opposition, and the opposition parties also have to support the process of PKK militants' withdrawal from the country.
Militants of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) began leaving the Turkish territory on May 8.
A group of militants began leaving the Turkish province of Hakkari. The newspaper stressed that militants were not accompanied by security forces or drones.
Imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan previously called on members of the organization to lay down arms and leave the country.
Turkish authorities promised to create the conditions for PKK militants who laid down their weapons to freely leave the country.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK demanding the creation of an independent Kurdish state has lasted for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the European Union.
