Floods caused by torrential rainfall have killed six and otherwise affected about a million people in the southeastern Chinese provinces of Hunan and Jiangxi.

In Hunan, some 2,000 houses have been destroyed, and more than 14,000 people have had to be evacuated.
In Jiangxi, the flooding has spread to 26 districts.
