Auschwitz war criminals investigated in Germany

Investigators are trying to track down 50 suspected Auschwitz guards believed to be living in Germany. They are all around 90 years old.

Investigators are already armed with their names and addresses. According to Kurt Shrimm of the German Agency for investigation of crimes of national socialism, in a few weeks the case against the suspects could be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office.
At the start of the week it became known that one of the men on the list - 93-year-old Hans Lipschis - is the first suspect to be facing charges, and is already in custody.
