The Philippines holds mid-term elections on Monday in what is seen by many as crucial for President Benigno Aquino’s reform agenda.

At least 52 million voters are choosing more than 18,000 officials, including local leaders, as well as members of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Results of the Monday poll are due to be announced in a few days.
