Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents discuss situation in Caucasus.

Russian and Azerbaijani presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Ilham Aliev discussed the situation in the Caucasus and issues concerning their relations, RIA Novosti informs.
“We shall look at how the situation will develop in the region. We are strongly tied to the Caucasus and thus everything that happens here is of importance for us as in any other region,” the president of the Russian Federation said.
The president also stressed importance of the upcoming meeting with the participation of the Armenian president, which will be dedicated to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“Those meetings take place on a regular basis, sometimes there are improvements, sometimes there are some problems but all in all that dialogue is helpful and I hope that such meetings will continue,” Medvedev stressed.
Ilham Aliev mentioned that the intensive character of the relations allows strengthening the cooperation in all directions.
“The previous year was very fruitful, we strengthened relations and the trade volume increased.”
The Azerbaijani president thanked his college for ‘the efforts into finding ways for the solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict’.
