Jean Pierre Sueur is against Armenian Bill though considering it as inhuman crime.

"The bill banning genocide denial will be applied only to those who are extremely denying the Armenian Genocide as it is the only one recognized by the law", said representatives of French Commission on Law Jean Pierre Sueur.
In the future, the bill will be applied to the genocides recognized by the parliament.
“I understand the debates in connection with this bill, I understand the pain of the Armenians. There is no doubt that the events which happened in Turkey in the beginning of the last century were genocide. However, the debate is not related to the fact whether it was genocide or not, the debate is held to determine what the law can afford. Parliament is not a tribunal, and legislators should not make history. I respect the memory of the Armenian Genocide,” he said addressing the Senators on Monday.
Jean Pierre Sueur recalled that Article 34 of the French Constitution does not allow making laws with such historical pretext, as this could jeopardize the historical research in the country.
“This contradicts many fundamental provisions of our legislation, endangers freedom of expression,” he added.
"Armenian Genocide is one of the most serious wounds of history, which France has ever recognized as a historical fact. I express my heartfelt condolences to the offspring of the genocide victims. We should always commemorate them," Jean-Pierre Sueur said.
Qualifying the 1915 events as inhuman crime, Sueur said, it will never be forgotten, as wounds never recover throughout years.
At the same time, the head of the Commission of Law came forth against the bill. "We do not deny the Armenian Genocide, but are not eligible to adopt such a decision," said Jean Pierre Sueur.
