Adoption of Armenian Genocide bill is also the victory of intellectual Turks - Kiro Manoyan.

The adoption of the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide by France's Senate is a political success for all, Head of the political affairs office of the ARF Armenian Bureau Kiro Manoyan said during today`s press conference.

“This was first of all the victory of France, since it managed not to yield to pressures during the 7.5-hour-long discussion and before that,” Kiro Manoyan said.

"It is the victory of all Armenians as with the efforts of Turkey the issue turned into Armenian-Turkish fight in France. It is also the victory of intellectual Turks living in Turkey as they understand such kind of bills` adoption abroad is necessary for the country`s inner changes. Besides, it was once more confirmed that Turkey is not ready to face his history. It was Turkey's political failure as the country tried to do everything and raised the bar very high making its fall strong," Manoyan said.

He noted that after Sarkozy signs the law it will enter into force and a new phase will start as the fate of the law will not end with this. Certain circles may give a trial to the application of the law. The consequences of it may be that many EU member states follow the example of France. Manoyan said it once again proved that Turkey is not ready to come into terms with its loss. The French-Turkish relations will freeze after the adoption of the bill, but in economic respect Turkey cannot do much as it has economic interests in France and will not drown them so easily.
