Today at “Hayeli” press-club head of the “European integration” NGO Manvel Ghumashyan met journalists and spoke about the possible developments of the French Senate.
According to M. Ghumashyan Senate decision raised Armenian Genocide issue with new strength as this theme was presented in the international media widely and those who did know about Armenian Genocide, got information.
“Senate decision may temporary cause some problems for Armenians in Istanbul, but will not last long and will not have global consequences”, the speaker considered.
Referring to the version that acceptance of the bill has political context M. Ghumashyan noted that there is no logic in it. “More Turks live in France than Armenians do”.
According to the expert Turkish ambitions are more that the work done by them.
“Turkey wants to enter a family which is named European Union. But it has an ignoring attitude towards the main members of the organization (France, Germany). So I can say that Senate decision is a great lesson for Turkey. I do not except that Germany also may accept such a bill”, M. Ghumashyan said and added that B. Obama may also pronounce the word 'Genocide'.
