Why the ANM member refused to fight for Spitak city`s mayor elections?
Political
Today, on Jan. 25, ANM member (Armenian National Movement) Ananik Nikoghosyan presented withdrawal application to the N. 29 precinct commission, refusing to fight for the position of Spitak city mayor from the beginning of the campaign day.
Was this a party decision? For clarifying this issue LURER.com had a talk with ANM president, ANC representative Aram Manukyan, who said, "There are no decisions, we held discussions and came to this conclusion. We don`t make interactive decisions."
And to the question of 'what was the reason of this decision' Manukyan responded, "Abilities, chance of passing, number of votes, organizational difficulties - there are various reasons, also Nikoghosyan`s own wish." To the question 'was it possible that the party found its candidate weak,' the ANC representative did not want to answer, "Let's limit with this much. I already answered."
To note, Spitak city`s mayor elections are scheduled on Feb. 12, and as of current moment, there is only one candidate here - the incumbent mayor, Republican member Gagik Sahakyan.
