Armenia’s Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan gave a speech during the celebration dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Armenian Army.

“Today is one of those days when we congratulate each other remembering many events which happened 20 years ago. Those memories start with the dear phrase ARMENIAN ARMY. I congratulate all of us on the 20th anniversary of our army.

We were in the war we had to fight with hunting guns and arms we had inherited from the Soviet Union. Today we have our own military industrial complex.

Yes, our army is already established and today many problems are solved much easier. Our nation was the one to create such an army. And today the army develops with the help of the nation.

We shall not retreat from being one of the world’s best armies and from maintaining peace, security and stability in the region. In this honorable moment I report to the General Commander and assure the nation that the Armenian army has fulfilled its mission with honor during these twenty years and it will not weaken its vigilance and will protect the borders of our country and the peace of our nation. We shall not satisfy ourselves with the current achievements because only with great devotion and hard work can we ensure a bright future for our nation.”
