Yerevan City Hall and the RA Police cooperate in "Pupils, policemen, soldiers – dedicated to Homeland" program.

The Department of General Education of the City Hall of Yerevan and the Juvenile Division of the Head Department of Criminal Investigations of the RA Police are implementing a joint program aimed at education and upbringing of schoolchildren. The cooperation of the Municipality and the Police is carried out under the motto “Pupils, policemen, soldiers – devoted to Homeland”.
The goal of the Department of General Education is to support proper organization of patriotic upbringing in schools, as well as to prevent possible criminal activities by juvenile.
“Making schoolchildren and policemen friends we shall exclude the criminal actions which a juvenile may do unconsciously or because of other reasons”, says the head of the Department of General Education of the City Hall Gayane Soghomonyan.
During the discussions the schoolchildren direct a lot of questions to the policemen and receive the responds which also good advice for the children of their age. In this way the policemen get aware of what the children know about different youth gangs, sects, other criminal and anti-social groups, as well as how the children get information.
The firsthand talks with the children will give the policemen and the teachers an opportunity to prevent possible violations of law informing the schoolchildren about them. “In many cases we give examples to make the words more vivid, more interesting for children, tell them real events, explain the possible punishment which may be used toward a juvenile in case of committing a crime", explains the Deputy Head of the Juvenile Division of the Head Department of Criminal Investigations of the RA Police Nelly Duryan.
The circle of issues included in the discussions also refers to the Army, to considering the Army as a factor of juvenile civil upbringing. "A child must realize that he is an important person for the Army, must appreciate his participation in the Army and his service to Homeland", said Gayane Soghomonyan.
The schoolchildren from all the administrative districts are included in the discussions.
