The issues related to cooperation between the bodies of local self-government and the Police have been discussed.

The issues related to the cooperation between the bodies of local self-government and the Police were discussed during the joint conference convened by the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and the RA Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan.

The heads of the administrative districts of Yerevan, the chiefs of Yerevan Police Department and territorial divisions also took part in the conference.

Expressing gratitude to the RA Police Chief for receiving the invitation, Taron Margaryan attached importance to the teamwork in maintenance of  public order, the effectiveness of which is provided with coordinated activity and tight cooperation of police department of the administrative districts. The Mayor pointed out that the quality improvement of maintenance of public order is obligatory and requires everyday and consistent work. In this context the Mayor outlined the cooperation within the framework of “Safe city” program which is targeted at ensuring a comfortable and safe urban environment for the citizen, as well as at the implementation of joint programs especially among juveniles. Referring to the problem of having a safe city, the RA Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan noted that guarantee of success is not only the development of cooperation with city authorities, but also the work done in communities, with the representatives of different layers of the society.

Vladimir Gasparyan noted that in the period of elections there always appears some activation of public life, and this fact makes us to be more responsible and do our best to provide public order in the capital. The Police Chief expressed confidence that the systematic and practical cooperation will give its desired result and make our attempts to have a model city real.
