Egypt is seeing protests by left and liberal activists who want the power to be transferred to a civilian government as soon as possible.
The Muslim Brotherhood has won half of the seats in the new parliament and the new speaker also belongs to the party. However, the bloc wants to stick to the power transfer schedule which was proposed by the ruling Supreme Military Council.
Under this schedule, the registration procedure for presidential candidates will begin on April 15.
