Earthquake hits Georgia

An earthquake of medium strength took place in Georgia at 4:00 a.m..

As the Seismological Monitoring Center of Georgia said on Tuesday, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 10 kilometers from Sukhumi.

Tremors with magnitude of 5.4 were felt at the epicenter of the earthquake. Tremors repeated twice within the subsequent few minutes.

The population of Samegrelo region bordering with Abkhazia felt the tremors of magnitude 3.5 - 4. Information about the damage and casualties were not reported.
