RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan receives the President of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait Ali Fahd Al-Rashid

On May 30 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the President of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait Ali Fahd Al-Rashid, who arrived in Armenia on four-day official visit.

Welcoming the guest and thanking him for accepting his invitation and visiting Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan expressed confidence that the visit of the President of the Kuwaiti Parliament would essentially promote the further development of the Armenian-Kuwaiti relations, and especially, inter-parliamentary cooperation. The NA President highlighted the development of relations on different platforms with the Arab world, including also with friend Kuwait. He noted with satisfaction that the relations between Armenia and Kuwait had stable progress and highly assessed the existing cooperation between the two countries. The NA President hailed the further development of the international relations, the activity of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups, which would promote the deepening and enlargement of the bilateral relations. “The inter-parliamentary relations serve as an important component of inner-state relations and the activation of contacts between the parliaments, both in bilateral and multilateral formats contribute to the reinforcement of mutual understanding and mutual trust and the enlargement of the format of united views in international organizations,” Hovik Abrahamyan noted. Emphasizing the regional stability and security the NA President has stressed that the Republic of Armenia is adhered to the principle of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and permanently stems from constructive positions.

Thanking for the warm reception the President of the National Assembly of Kuwait expressed conviction that his official visit to Armenia would be an important impetus to the development of the cooperation of the two countries. To his conviction, the deepening of the inter-parliamentary cooperation would essentially promote the activation of bilateral relations in all the directions. In Fahd Al-Rashid’s word, the political positions of the two countries coincide: the two countries seek for the establishment and reinforcement of peace and stability. The Head of the Kuwaiti Parliament noted that his country was for developing trade-economic and scientific-cultural ties with Armenia.

In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon other issues of bilateral interest.
