Karl Bardakyan appointed chief coach of Armenian men’s basketball team.

The Board of the Basketball Federation of Armenia has appointed Karl Bardakyan chief coach of the Armenian men’s basketball team, ArmSport.am reports.
Managed by Karl Bardakyan, the Los Angeles team won the 2011 Pan-Armenian Games. The Basketball Federation considered Mr Bardakyan’s positive results during the Pan-Armenian Games, as well as his wide experience.
Managed by Mr Bardakyan, the Armenian national team is to the C division of the European championship. The Basketball Federation hopes Mr Bardakyan will succeed in mobilizing the best Armenian basketball players and achieving positive results.
Last summer, the Armenian junior basketball team won the sixth place among 23 teams in the B division. That was a unique result in the history of Armenian basketball. Earlier, in 2010, the Armenian women’s team won the silver medal in the C division.
Armenian basketball fans have been waiting for the play of the Armenian men’s team for a long time.
The matches of the C division of the European championship are to start in San Marino, July 2, 2012. The Armenian team will soon be included among the participants.
