56.7% of suicides in Armenia are committed by unemployed people.

More than half of all suicides in Armenia (56.7%) were committed by the unemployed last year, while 16.5% - by pensioners, says the report issued by national statistical service.

The overall number of suicides in 2011 reached 195, while suicide attempts – 452. The rate reduced by 13.3% as compared with 2010.

Majority of suicides were committed through hanging or jumping from height.
