Sarkozy threatens sending bill penalizing the denial of Holocaust to the Constitutional Council.

In case the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide is recognized anti-constitutional, the bill penalizing the denial of Holocaust will also be sent to the Constitutional Council of France, President of France Nicolas Sarkozy stated at the meeting with a number of French MPs on January 31, French Le Monde reported.

During the meeting President of France expressed discontent over inclusion of the Armenian bill on the agenda of the Constitutional Council.

On January 31 with the initiative of a number of senators the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide was included on the agenda of the Constitutional Council.

The bill authored by member of French Senate Valerie Boyer was adopted on January 23. It envisages 1 year in prison and 45 thousand euros' fine in case of denial of the Armenian Genocide.
