Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received on Tuesday EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Philippe Lefort to discuss the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and issues on the EU cooperation in defense field.

Both parties stressed the importance of weakening tension on the contact line, in particular, necessity to strengthen confidence building measures, ministerial press service informed. One of those steps can be introduction of international mechanism for fair investigation into ceasefire violation cases in the line of contact.

Oyanyan and Lefort praised high possible prospects for developing cooperation in the defense sphere between the Ministry and the Union.
