Stepan Demirchyan is suspicious over fair elections in Armenia.
Political
The promises to hold a fair parliamentary election cannot be treated seriously, according to Stepan Demirchyan, the leader of the Armenian People’s Party (a political force represented in the opposition Armenian National Congress).
At a news conference on Tuesday, Demirchyan said he cannot believe in such prospect given that the incumbent authorities never gave their opinion on the previous elections which he claims were falsified.
Asked why the party intends to bid for parliament at all if it is sure the ballots will be falsified, he said, “What will be the use of not running. We must have our participation, we must continue the struggle which at the present stage implies running for the National Assembly election.”
At the end Demirchyan called upon the population to attend the polls to prevent their votes from being sold.
