Italy and France recalled their ambassadors from Syria. At the same time, foreign press says the Italian Embassy would continue to work in Syria in order to assist citizens of the country.

The MFA of France said that such a decision was made due to the continuing repression against the population.

Earlier U.K. and U.S. also recalled their ambassadors from Syria. The government of Belgium also made a similar decision, Lenta.ru reports.
