Canada allows torture-tainted information in 'exceptional' cases.

Associated Press - Canada has directed its spy agency to act on information from foreign agencies that may have been extracted through torture in cases when public safety is at risk.
The order represents a reversal of policy for Canada's Conservative government, which once insisted the domestic Canadian Security Intelligence Service must discard information if there was any inkling it was tainted.
Public Safety Minister Vic Toews told CSIS that the government now expects the spy service to "make the protection of life and property its overriding priority", according to 2010 documents obtained by The Canadian Press news agency under the Access to Information Act.
The directive says in "exceptional circumstances" the information can be used.
Public Safety spokesman Michael Patton said Tuesday that Canada does not condone or engage in torture.
