Much has to be done to form civil society in Armenia, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated at the government’s sitting on Thursday as he commented on a statement by the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
The ANC claims that civil society was formed in Armenia four years ago.
Premier Tigran Sargsyan also spoke of the Press Freedom Index 2011/2012 by Reporters without Borders. Armenia has moved 24 points up.
“Armenia has made serious progress in this field, and it is a good political assessment,” the premier said.
“I think that Armenia’s free press has played its essential role in this matter,” the premier said.
He also noted that all Armenia-related international problems are constantly in the government’s limelight.
“We register all the problems and all our achievements,” the Armenian premier said.
