Snow blocks highways in Armenia.

The heavy snow on the territory of Armenia has blocked several highways.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Selim mountain pass, as well as the Berd-Chambarak (Tavush region) and Upper Getashen-Madina highways were not trafficable as of 9:30 am local time.

The snow storm and the low visibility have made several roadways difficult to pass. Cleaning activities are now under way.

The Emergencies Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry reported that the traffic movement on the Guduar (Posta)-Lars section of the Mtskheta-Stepandzminda-Lars highway has been banned because of heavy snowfalls.
